Alert in UP after Pahalgam Terror Attack, Process to Send Back Pakistani Nationals Begins

Lucknow– Following the revelation of a Pakistan connection in the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 28 people, the Government of India is taking a firm stance.

The government has immediately cancelled all types of visas issued to Pakistani citizens residing in India.

With over 1500 Pakistani nationals residing in various cities across Uttar Pradesh, the process to send them back has been initiated. Precautionary measures are also being taken in view of Friday prayers.

Following the orders to cancel visas of Pakistani nationals after the Pahalgam terror attack, the process of sending Pakistani citizens back from Uttar Pradesh has commenced.

On the instructions of the DGP Headquarters, efforts to gather information and complete formalities for the repatriation of Pakistani nationals in the districts have been expedited.

DGP Prashant Kumar stated that although no formal orders have been received from the Centre yet, the headquarters has directed the districts to collect the details of Pakistani citizens and complete the necessary formalities.

DGP Prashant Kumar said that information is being gathered on Pakistani nationals who have come to UP on different types of visas. Initial reports indicate the presence of 35 Pakistani citizens in Bareilly, 10 in Varanasi, 30 in Rampur, and 18 in Bulandshahr.

A high-level meeting regarding the Pakistani nationals present in UP was held late Thursday night at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s residence. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of the UP Home Department Sanjay Prasad and DGP Prashant Kumar.
